Everybody's attending Panthers games now that we've got competent ownership, management and a winning team on the ice! Some of the footage was recorded before and right at door opening, but I can assure you all 3 games I have visited had an attendance close to a sellout. The Panthers finished the 2023-24 regular season ranked 9th across the NHL in attendance.

OMG, that's crazy, featuring articulation on such a small scale! I really didn't notice! Speaks for Mattel's capabilities - I've always found their products to be superior than Hasbro's when it came to the Jurassic World figures or the DIsney Princess dolls. Hasbro made very decent TLK action figures in the early 2000s, though, such as the incredible Fight to the Finish Adult Simba & Scar set.

Correct, besides the sets, Mattel did release individual figures as well, such as the Fighting Action series that had Adult Simba, Mufasa and Scar.

Both of these were available at the Walt Disney World, namely at Animal Kingdom Park.

The NHL has announced there'll be no All-Star Weekend and therefore likely no Mascot Showdown in 2025 due to the 4 Nations Faceoff Tournament that'll be held in Boston and Toronto. The next NHL All-Star Weekend will take place in late-January 2026, immediately before the Winter Olympics. It will be hosted by the New York Islanders at UBS Arena in Elmont, NY. At this time, it is unknown whether the Mascot Showdown will be back, since Long Island lacks any convention spaces suitable for the Fan Fair and the Mascot Showdown. However, I can't see them not doing anything with the mascots. Likely not as big as in Toronto, but in general, I do plan to attend all future Mascot Showdown events, so I will very likely be in NY in early 2026.

@@KitwanaLion I am going to the 2026 all star events for the NHL but I am suprised that the Mascot showdown can’t be at the Long Island Ducks stadium

@@Camjam22 The problem with that is that it would be outdoors - and January is not a good time to be outdoors in that corner of the world. There's the Belmont Park horserace track right next to UBS Arena that has plenty of space, but again, it's all outdoors. It didn't even work out in Florida when the 2023 Mascot Showdown was right ON the beach in Fort Lauderdale. I was there when they had to cancel the entire Saturday programming because of a rainstorm. I don't see them having the Fan Fair & Mascot Showdown in Manhattan (Javits Center!) either, because that's Rangers territory. We'll see, what they'll come up with. The NHL press release did mention "Pre- and post-game festivities at The Park at UBS Arena", which is rather small outdoor park on the arena premises. If they expand a bit into the VIP parking lots of the arena, it could hold the rink needed for the Mascot Showdown - but again, it'd be outdoors.

Yeah, this was relayed to me when I was at the Mascot Showdown in Toronto in February. Too bad he didn't get the job, but maybe it had to be that way, considering what just happened. I feel so incredibly sorry for Howler, his performer and everyone else in the organization. One of the most Furry mascots isn't anymore:(

Keep an eye on the land auction in late-June. If the current Coyotes owner, Alex Meruelo wins it AND is able to build his arena project within the next 5 years, the NHL grants him the right to revive the franchise under its current branding. The Coyotes IP stays with Meruelo for the time being, the NHL considers the franchise "inactive". Whether Meruelo should ever be let anywhere close to a sports team is - of course - an entirely different story, but that's a topic other UA-camrs shall cover:)

All credits go to the mascots. I was simply the one documenting these wonderful moments with my phone. Mascots helped me smile during a difficult period in my life and that's why I love to be around them so much!

Aww, we have something in common! I had always loved watching Disney characters interacting with kids and until this day, I am fascinated by sports mascots. In fact, meeting one (Stanley C. Panther of the Florida Panthers) eventually helped me discover the fandom many years ago as I was browsing for mascot videos - and mascots helped me smile during a dark period of my special needs life. Today, I simply try to give back by making kids smile as I perform my fursuits in the public or documenting such moments with my camera, making the world a bit of a more positive place!

He was at the Showdown, but not at this game for whatever reason. Could have been anything. Costume issue, personal issue, running late, etc. The other days of the event he was very active and approachable, often mingling with fans.

The Isles will host the 2026 All-Star Weekend. It's uncertain at this point whether the Mascot Showdown will return due to the lack of proper event space, but if it does, we may very well see not only Sparky but Nyisles, too! They'd make great hosts - and Sparky was actually lots of fun in Toronto, very active and approachable!

Me as well, tbh, but over time, there was simply too many people crossing right in front of my camera, blocking my view, so I tried to change position.

Not only the Rangers, but the Wings would need to create a costumed version of Al the Octopus (and yes, that IS possible!) You can turn almost anything into a mascot costume.

That's right! The Anaheim Ducks had to drop the "Mighty" from their name when Disney cut the ties to the team around 2006. I'm super-glad they were able to keep Wild Wing as their mascot, he's an icon!
